Kael is a powerful Attack champion from the Dark Elves faction in Raid: Shadow Legends. As a Rare champion with a Magic affinity, Kael is known for his strong damage potential and versatile skill set. His ability to excel in both early and late-game content makes him one of the most popular starter champions. With reliable Poison debuffs and a strong AoE attack, Kael can deal consistent damage in various game modes.

Kael performs well in both PvE and PvP content. In dungeons like Dragon’s Lair and Clan Boss, his Poison abilities shine by inflicting steady damage over time. He’s also a reliable pick for Faction Wars and Campaign stages, especially as a fast and efficient farmer. While Kael’s strengths are impressive, he may struggle in high-end Arena battles where stronger nukers or crowd control champions are favored. His skill set, however, provides a solid balance between direct damage and sustained output through debuffs.

Table of Contents
Kael’s standout abilities are his Acid Rain (A2) and Disintegrate (A3) skills. Acid Rain is an AoE attack with an increased critical hit chance and a Turn Meter boost for each defeated enemy, making it highly effective for clearing waves. Disintegrate, his multi-hit skill, applies powerful 5% Poison debuffs, which are key for bosses like the Clan Boss and Dragon. These abilities make Kael particularly effective in prolonged battles where Poison damage can accumulate.
Compared to other starter champions like Elhain, Galek, and Athel, Kael stands out for his superior Poison capabilities. While Elhain offers stronger wave-clearing, and Galek and Athel excel in specific roles, Kael’s Poison skills provide unmatched value in boss fights and dungeon runs. His versatility allows him to thrive in both solo campaigns and balanced team compositions where sustained damage is crucial.

Kael Best Gear
Kael performs best with a Lifesteal set combined with either a Speed or Cruel set, depending on the player’s strategy. Lifesteal is crucial for Kael, as it heals him for 30% of the damage he deals. This set allows him to stay alive longer, especially in tough battles like Clan Boss or dungeon runs where sustained damage is important.
Pairing Lifesteal with a Speed set is ideal for improving Kael’s Turn Meter, helping him attack more often and apply his Poison debuffs consistently. On the other hand, combining Lifesteal with a Cruel set boosts his Attack by 15% and lets him ignore 5% of the enemy’s Defense, increasing his overall damage output. Speed is generally better for early and mid-game progression, while Cruel can offer stronger damage for boss fights and later content.

Kael Masteries
Kael’s masteries can greatly improve his performance in both PvE and PvP content. For general PvE, focusing on the Offense and Support trees offers the best results. Offense masteries like Single Out, Life Drinker, and Methodical increase his damage output, especially in longer battles. Support masteries such as Lore of Steel, Evil Eye, and Master Hexer help improve his stats, reduce enemy Turn Meters, and extend the duration of his Poison debuffs.
For Campaign farming, Kael benefits from masteries that boost his damage and speed. Offense masteries like Cycle of Violence, Kill Streak, and Flawless Execution increase his burst damage, making him more effective at clearing waves quickly. Support masteries like Swarm Smiter, Cycle of Magic, and Spirit Haste improve his Turn Meter gain and skill cooldowns, allowing him to take more turns and finish battles faster.

Kael Blessings
Kael benefits greatly from the Phantom Touch blessing, which enhances his damage output. This blessing has a chance to deal bonus damage to a single enemy whenever Kael attacks. While the bonus damage applies to only one target during multi-hit attacks, it still adds valuable extra damage that complements Kael’s strong offensive skills.
Phantom Touch works well with Kael’s Poison abilities, giving him a mix of direct and damage-over-time effects. This blessing is especially useful in PvE content like dungeons and Clan Boss, where steady damage can make a big difference. Choosing this blessing can improve Kael’s overall performance, helping him clear waves faster or deal stronger hits to key targets.

How to Get Kael
Kael is one of the four starter champions available when you first begin playing Raid: Shadow Legends. Alongside Athel, Elhain, and Galek, Kael can be chosen as your starting champion during the game’s introduction. Once selected, Kael will join your roster immediately, allowing you to use him right away.
If you didn’t choose Kael at the start, there’s still a chance to get him later through Mystery Shards, Ancient Shards, or special events. However, since Kael is a strong and reliable champion for both early and late-game content, picking him as your starter is often the best choice for long-term progress.
